Varshita Yarabadi

Varshita Yarabadi is a graduate research assistant at the Charlotte Urban Institute, where she supports the Charlotte Regional Data Trust by building and rebuilding data portal tools. Her work focuses on supporting the team’s data and analytics platforms and helping make regional data more accessible and useful to the community.

She is pursuing a master’s degree in computer science at UNC Charlotte, with a concentration in data science and artificial intelligence. Yarabadi also brings prior software engineering experience to her work at the Institute and lends technical expertise and a data-focused perspective to the team’s projects.

Yarabadi is originally from India and moved to the United States at 17 to pursue her undergraduate studies, an experience that shaped her independence and adaptability. Outside of work and school, she is a coffee enthusiast who enjoys playing tennis, hosting friends, and exploring fashion and home decor. Above all, she is community-oriented and values the close relationships she has built along the way.
