Kymberly Byrd

Kymberly Byrd is a senior research associate at Charlotte Urban Institute, where she leads the Impact, Data and Evaluation Academy, also known as IDEA. She has over 15 years of community-engaged, participatory research and evaluation experience in economic opportunity, community development, maternal and child health and other focus areas. 

Byrd holds bachelors’ degrees in Social Work and Spanish from Oakwood University, masters’ degrees in Social Work and Public Health from Boston University, as well as a master’s and doctorate degree in Community Research and Action from Vanderbilt University.

In her free time, Byrd enjoys trying new restaurants, exploring Charlotte’s arts scene and spending time in nature.
