Data and Research Coordinator

Candace Edwards is the data research coordinator at the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute + Regional Data Trust.

She is a computer scientist and project administrator with a background in AI ethics and algorithmic bias research. In her role at the Institute, Edwards supports community data partners, facilitates integrated data projects and data governance, and manages the Data Stewards program. 

Edwards, who is also a florist, amateur ethnobotanist and creative coder, is a New York native. She holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from Ithaca College as well as a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa.
