Jenny Niu

Jenny Niu is a research associate at the Charlotte Urban Institute. She is originally from China and holds a master’s degree in public health from Tufts School of Medicine with a concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics. Previously, Jenny served as a community health strategist at the Gaston County Department of Health. There, she gained valuable experience conducting comprehensive assessments to identify local public health challenges and developing initiatives to enhance community well-being – which ignited her passion for community research. This role solidified her commitment to using research as a tool to drive community advancement.

Outside of her research endeavors, Jenny enjoys traveling the world, hiking, exploring nature, volunteering in her church community, and spending quality time with her family.
