Johnella Felders

Johnella is the associate director of research translation and engagement at the Charlotte Urban Institute and Regional Data Trust where she helps amplify research findings, promote initiatives, and foster community engagement. Prior to joining the Institute, Felders gained experience in the nonprofit industry, serving as the marketing coordinator for one of the largest behavioral health nonprofits in Texas.

A Louisiana native, Felders holds a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a master’s degree in Strategic Communication from Butler University. She is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and enjoys discovering new restaurants, documentaries and music.
