Deputy County Manager for Mecklenburg County

Dr. Kimm Campbell serves as Deputy County Manager for Mecklenburg County, leading its combined Health and Human Services agency and Housing and Community Development Office. This includes Child, Family, and Adult Services, Public Health, Community Resources, and Community Support Services.

Dr. Campbell most recently served as Broward County, Florida’s deputy county administrator, responsible for the general management of county government operations with an $8 billion budget and more than 7,000 employees in a community of more than two million residents. She previously served as an assistant county administrator, human services department director, and human services deputy department director. Previous roles also include Mecklenburg County’s Director of the Children’s Mental Health System of Care; and Assistant Director of the Children’s System of Care Branch in the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Campbell holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from New Mexico State University and a Doctorate in Social Work from Barry University.
