Kristen Howard leads enterprise governance across the health system, including the parent board, hospital boards, foundation boards and subsidiary entities. She partners with executive leadership and trustees to strengthen governance, advance enterprise strategy and support organizational effectiveness.

An attorney by training, Howard previously led Corporate Affairs at Novant Health and has held leadership roles at Michigan Medicine and Detroit Public Schools Community District. A sought-after speaker, she has presented nationally on health equity, education, organizational strategy and women’s leadership at professional conferences, executive forums and community organizations. Howard and her husband are raising three energetic sons.
