TThe Charlotte Regional Indicators - Now available.
The Charlotte Regional Indicators Project compiles objective, reliable, and relevant measures for the greater Charlotte region on indicators that are important to the region's quality of life. Organized in ten theme areas, measured over time, and compared to state or national data, these indicators provide policy makers, civic leaders, and the public with a solid foundation for engaging in efforts to address the social, economic, and environmental challenges of the 14-county region.
The indicators are organized in 10 theme areas:
* Arts, Recreation, and Cultural Life;
* Economy;
* Education;
* Environment;
* Government and Citizen Participation;
* Health;
* Housing;
* Public Safety;
* Social Well-Being; and
* Transportation.
Initiated in early 2007, the Project is moving to a new level in the fall of 2010 with the launch of an on-line, interactive system for reviewing the enhanced databank. This set of indicators are being explored in more depth to meet the needs of the new community data partners, and the presentation will include commentary and analyses by regional stakeholders on the wealth of data that has been collected. By focusing on the region as a whole and across the ten theme areas, the Project hopes to stimulate collaboration across political boundaries and between the public and private sectors, towards sustaining our shared quality of life.
