Melvin Herring leads the Masters in Social Work program, which specializes in training culturally competent social work practitioners. Herring is a recognized expert in cultural competence and has co-developed a theoretical model to guide practice and instruction in the area. He serves as a mentor and professor and is instrumental in the creation and development of the Community Data Oversight Committee.
