Bianca Bagley
Originally from Waxhaw, North Carolina, Bianca Bagley is a student at UNC Charlotte majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Journalism. At the Charlotte Urban Institute Her academic interests center on storytelling, media and strategic communication, and she is eager to gain hands-on experience in a field she is passionate about.
She serves as a research translation and engagement associate with the Charlotte Urban Institute + Regional Data Trust, where she supports the director of research translation and engagement in advancing the Institute’s research agenda and broader University goals. In this role, she helps translate complex research and data into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences on digital channels. Her work includes developing and managing social media content, drafting blogs and newsletters, supporting visual storytelling efforts through photography and video, and assisting with administrative and event logistics. Through this experience, she is building professional skills in communications, marketing and project coordination while contributing to meaningful, community-centered research.
At Charlotte, she is actively involved in campus life as a member of Codachrome, the University’s premier a cappella group, where she combines her love of music and performance with collaboration and creativity. Through her academic and extracurricular pursuits, she is building a strong foundation in communication while embracing opportunities to grow professionally and personally.
